I had a great experience here all around. Pleasant to talk to and great customer service! I brought my car in for brakes and window regulator replacement on a rear window. The prices were reasonable and clearly laid out for me so there were no surprises. I think honest, open communication is essential to doing good business and JB does exactly that. I will happily refer family, friends, and neighbors here in town.

We were on the road, far from home and began hearing a rhytmic crunching noise coming from the rear wheel. Sounded serious, so we consulted auto repair shops in Nokomis. We settled on JB Auto Works after reading the reviews and we’re not disappointed. Jim was polite and courteous, assessed our situation and gave us what appeared to be an honest estimate of our problem. The price was fair and we left his very tidy shop with peace of mind. The work was done in what we considered to be excellent time. Our only regret is that he is not close enough to be our regular mechanic.

My GF took her vehicle to two other “tire places” to address a loud cabin noise. She was told it was the front bearings in the wheel hub and the prices averaged 1300$….and it wouldn’t be able to be done for days. Called JB not knowing anything about them and he said he could do it in a day and wasn’t even half that amount. Quality work at a very fair price. I have recommended Jim to many people because he is just what you want to find in a mechanic….fair and honest! Will take all my vehicles to him and feel assured I’m getting a great price and quality work.

Jim was very helpful and kind and I dropped off my vehicle over the weekend and diagnosed the problem quickly. Although he could not get to the work he referred me to another local mechanic. Honest and forth coming. Will try Jim another time

I drove to Nakomis 2 hours away from my town to look at a used car at the last minute. While i was there i wanted an independant mechanic to look at it before purchase. Not only did they squeeze me in on a very busy Friday, an hour before close, but they were very thorough and even reviewed the carfax with me. I highly recommend this shop for the quality and care of their staff!

This place did my rear drum brakes. I did the front disc brakes myself but I knew that I can’t do drum brakes so I need to get it done. Mine were shot. I asked them to check the front brakes to make sure everything was proper. They did check which gave me peace of mind. Well my car brakes better now and the petal is more firm.

When I got there to get my repair done, they called a taxi for me so I can get home while waiting for the repair to be done.
They were very honest and the owner Jim is a very nice guy. I recommend this auto repair shop.

Jim at JB auto works is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. When I first met him he stopped what he was doing and gave me his undivided attention. We discussed some business and he listened intently. He is a person of integrity and does what he says I highly recommend his shop for your automotive needs. Jim is also selling tires now at great prices.

This is a great local mechanic. Individually owned. The owner, Jim, is really nice and communicates very well about what he finds and his recommendations. I found Jim to be of integrity and straightforward and fair. Jim’s shop did a lot of work on my older 2006 tundra that has almost a quarter million miles on it. He did the timing belt, shocks, struts, the center support bearing, and other smaller items. I felt he was extremely fair with his pricing and fast and efficient with his work. “My girl” drives even better than she did before! I will probably use Jim’s shop for all my mechanical needs going forward. I highly recommend this business.

Integrity. Honest. Attentive. Dealership coupled with neighboring organizations advised the AC unit had to be replaced in excess of $600! Troubleshooted the issue. Rectified dilemma forthwith. And at 1/10 the cost!
